Graveside service: 1:30 p.m. May 27 at Frazier Cemetery, Boaz.

Jim Ghan, 73, of Clever, died Saturday, May 23, 2015. He was born April 13, 1942, in Clever, the son of Irvin and Murial (Frazier) Ghan.

Jim was united in marriage to Ethel Marie Wright on Dec. 4, 1964. They lived and raised their son, Steven, in the Clever area.

Jim raised registered Jersey cows until 1982. He continued farming with beef cattle while working for Silver Dollar City and Young’s Orchard. He began working at Nixa Hardware where, soon, everyone knew his name. When Ethel’s health began to fail, he retired to care for her until her passing on June 9, 2012. He was currently living at home with his son and wife, Steve and Chris Ghan.

Jim and Ethel were members of Calvary Bible Church in Nixa, and were caretakers of Frazier Cemetery for many years. He was known for his extensive bottle collection, including Coke bottles. He loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals and drink Dr. Pepper.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Johnson.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; four grandchildren, Brady and wife Abi, Dakota, Bailey and Montana; other relatives; and a host of friends.

Memorials are suggested to Frazier Cemetery, in care of the funeral home. Online condolences can be shared at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com.
