Kimberly Kay Teegardin Whipple, died on Sept. 11, 2018, in Springfield.

Kim was born on May 22, 1960, in Springfield, to Robert G. and Carolyn S. Teegardin. She worked as a power operations clerk at Southwestern Power Administration for 17 years. Her work history also included Aaron's Automotive and Zenith Electronics. Her commitment to her jobs and work ethic was impeccable. Her ‘can-do’ attitude was an asset to all. She accomplished earning an associate’s degree in business, graduating with honors. She graduated from Central High School in 1977.

Her sweet spirit and loving, generous nature was experienced by all who crossed her path. Memories of her creativity and gentle soul are remembered by all she touched. Kim was a proud and loving mother, a loving and loyal daughter and a wonderful sister and great friend to her extended family and friends. She was admired and loved by many. Her passion for animals and nature knew no bounds. Kim loved to hike in the woods, sleep on an ocean beach and jump in the car with her love, Charlie, to go everywhere they imagined, such as the Grand Canyon. She also took a last trip to see and experience the wild ponies at Chincoteague Island of Virginia.

She was as comfortable in a pair of hiking boots and jeans as she was wearing high fashion. Her soul was beautiful to behold, and her inner light shone bright and far. Her sense of humor and free spirit were magnetic and fun to be around. She will be so very missed by all who knew her and especially by those who loved her.

She is survived by her son, Zachariah Nusse; her parents, Robert and Carolyn Teegardin; her sister, Melody Teegardin Anderson; niece Vivian Conway and husband David; her special love and companion, Charlie Skinner; and several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. Also dear to Kim was her special friend, Jamie McNiel. A special mention also goes out to her fur baby pack and companions, Lucille, Memphis and Gibson. She loved them so.
