Local Nonprofit Celebrating New Dental Clinic

Posted

Children’s Smile Center (CSC), a Christian County nonprofit providing dental clinic services in six local counties, is pleased to celebrate on May 11 the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for its new dental clinic on the east side of Nixa.

Located just off Highway 14 at 112 S. Ridgecrest Ave. in Nixa, the new clinic replaces its original clinic on the west side of Ozark, where it had been located since 2006.

Children’s Smile Center provides dental clinic services to children covered by Missouri Medicaid who live in the Missouri counties of Christian, Stone, Taney, Dade, Lawrence, and Barry Counties with clinic locations in Nixa, Aurora, and Branson West.

Currently serving about 6,500 children each year, the new clinic will allow the nonprofit the capacity to serve even more children, according to Executive Director Jackie Barger.

At about 7,300 square feet, the new facility provides greater space for dental operations, staff offices, and an enhanced community room to host company needs, as well as meetings for local organizations and supporters who are connected to the work at Children’s Smile Center.

Funding for the new facility comes from the Healthy Smiles Campaign, combining current special event funding from the annual Hot Air Balloon Glow, the Sertoma Duck Race Festival and Price Cutter Cares, as well as soliciting financial support from friends and community members who support the mission of CSC, according to Barger. If interested in supporting the campaign, please contact Children’s Smile Center at 417- 582-5439, or through their Facebook page.

Children’s Smile Center will host visitors throughout the day on May 11, with the ribbon cutting scheduled for 11:30 a.m. The ceremony will include representatives from all four Chambers of Commerce in Christian County—Ozark, Nixa, Clever, and Sparta.
