Nixa’s streak of shutouts came to an end at five Thursday, as the Lady Eagles lost to Kickapoo 3-2 in the Class 4 District 5 final.

The Lady Chiefs netted the winning goal on a penalty kick in double overtime.

Nixa was in comeback mode the majority of the night, but twice rallied to tie things up in regulation.

After the Lady Eagles were blanked in the first half and trailed 1-0, Shaelee Franck scored six minutes into the second half to tie things up.

After Kickapoo took a 2-1 lead, Sam McClain made it 2-all on a goal with only two minutes remaining in regulation.

Kickapoo (21-5-1) received a penalty kick in double overtime after Nixa was whistled for a foul in the box.

The Lady Eagles have lost three straight to the Lady Chiefs over the past two seasons.

Nixa (13-9) closed out its season by winning nine of its final 11 matches, with all nine victories coming via a shutout.
