One person was injured during a shooting at Diversified Plastics, Inc. in Nixa on Friday, May 8, the Nixa Police Department (NPD) reported in a posting on their Facebook page. The NPD also reported that the alleged shooter was subdued by employees at Diversified Plastics and was taken into custody shortly after officers arrived on the scene.
“Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect, an employee of the business who had already been subdued by other employees at the business,” the NPD stated in their Facebook post. “Due to the quick response of the other employees, the suspect was taken into custody by law enforcement without incident.
“The victim, also an employee, sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported by EMS to a local hospital for medical treatment. The suspect was also transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment of a head injury.”
The NPD also stated that the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident stemming from a workplace altercation. They also emphasized that there was no danger to the public, and asked that anyone with information about the shooting to contact the NPD at (417)725-2510.
