Ozark stays alive at Blue & Gold with 77-45 consolation win versus Strafford

SPRINGFIELD — Kylan Pickren’s 17 first-half points triggered Ozark’s 77-45 blowout of Strafford in a Gold Division consolation game at the Blue & Gold Tournament on Thursday.

The Tigers jumped on top 16-3 and were never threatened. They put up 40 points in the second half.

Pickren finished with 17 points, while Hudson Roberts tallied 16 and Jace Whatley netted 15. Roberts hit four 3-point goals.

Former Ozark product Cody Voysey topped Strafford with 31 points. He was scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Ozark (4-7) will play for fifth place against tourney host Greenwood (11-1) at 7 p.m. Friday. 

The matchup will feature Tigers coach Mark Schweitzer going against one of his high school coaches from Reeds Spring in Greenwood coach Darren Taylor.
