Ramp closures scheduled on Highway 65 in Ozark

Posted

If you're planning some late night or early morning travel through Ozark from July 26-29, plan ahead.

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced a series of on- and off-ramp closures on U.S. Highway 65 starting at 9 p.m. Monday, July 26. All four of the highway exits in the Ozark city limits will be affected.

On Monday and Tuesday, the southbound ramps between State Route CC and State Route EE, or the Highlandville exit, will be closed for resurfacing between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Crews will start on the north end of the project zone at Route CC and work their way south over two nights. The work will also affect the Business Highway 14/Jackson Street exit and the State Route F/South Street exit.

On Wednesday and Thursday, northbound on- and off-ramps will be closed, beginning with State Route EE and moving north to finish at State Route CC/Route J.

Each ramp will be closed separately as the contractor carries out the project over four nights. There will not be an official signed detour. Drivers are urged to find alternate routes. The highway ramps will be open to traffic during the daytime hours.

This work is part of a project to resurface Route 65 between Route CC/Route J and Route EE in Ozark. Capital Paving and Construction of Columbia is performing the work at a total cost of $2.4 million. The Highway 65 resurfacing project in Ozark will be complete by early November.
