Celabration of life: 2 p.m. June 4 at at South Street Christian Church, 500 South Ave., Springfield.

Burial: June 5 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, Tennessee.

Thomas Oscar Parish Jr., of Nixa, was born in Belton to Edna and Reverend Tom Parish on Nov. 28, 1929. He attended Phillips University in Oklahoma and met the love of his life, Beverly Jo Humphreys, in Memphis, Tennessee, after graduating with honors. Tom’s father was Interim Minister at Central Christian Church — Beverly and her family’s church home — at the time.

Tom and Bev married on July 20, 1956, and were blessed with three children. Tom earned his Divinity Degree and served many Disciples of Christ Church Congregations throughout the Midwest. He retired in 1995. The couple moved to Nixa in 1997 and were members of South Street Christian Church in Springfield.

Reverend Tom Parish Jr. is survived by his wife, Beverly Parish, Nixa; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Tammy Parish, Nixa; granddaughter, Amelia Jo Parish, New York, New York; daughter, Bette Jayne Parish, Overland Park, Kansas; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Rebekah Parish, Leawood, Kansas; and grandsons, Adam, Garrett and Ben Parish, Leawood, Kansas; sister, Sandra Remmert and husband Richard, Champaign, Illinois; and nieces and nephews.

Tom loved his family, faith, friends, the communities he served and his dog, Boots.
