Three-time defending Class 1 District 4 champ Chadwick receives No. 3 seed

Posted

With a 19-3 record, Chadwick’s boys have been tabbed the No. 3 seed for Class 1 District 4.

Class 1 District 4, to be hosted by Bradleyville Feb. 20-24, features three teams already with 15 wins entering tonight’s action and next week’s games. The three teams with 15 wins or more do not include No. 1 seed Eminence (13-7).

Niangua (18-2) is the No. 2 seed, Couch (15-4) No. 4, Koshkonong (7-15) No. 5 and Bradleyville (3-21) No. 6.

Eminence is 5-4 in its last nine games and 6-3 against teams with a winning record. Perhaps the most impressive bullet point on the Redwings’ resume is a 40-34 home loss to three-time defending Class 1 state champion South Iron (21-1).

Eminence edged Mountain View Liberty 48-46. Chadwick beat Mountain View Liberty 63-51.

Niangua owns a 43-37 win over the Cardinals at Chadwick in mid-December.

Chadwick is the District’s three-time defending champion and has won 15 of its last 16 games entering tonight’s contest versus New Covenant. The Cardinals will be looking to reach 20 wins for the fourth straight season.

Chadwick will play Bradleyville in the District’s first round. The Cardinals whipped the Eagles 75-22 the first week of December.
