Winning pitcher Maddy Meierer fired a one-hit shutout to power Nixa’s softball team past Willard 4-0 Tuesday.
Meierer struck out eight and walked no one. Willard’s lone hit was a single with two outs in the fifth inning.
Kaylee Schlenker and Sarah Sweaney each homered for the Lady Eagles (4-0).
Nixa doubles up Ozark
Nixa downed Ozark 6-3 in tennis action Tuesday.
The Lady Eagles won five of the six singles matches. Arabella Cosgrove, Abigail Fulnecky, Ellie Sorgenrei, Samantha Fulnecky and Kaylee Chronister all prevailed for Nixa.
Ozark’s lone singles win came from Margaret Kensinger.
