Wanda Lee (Finney) Gideon was born to Henry “Ermal” and Clara (Marlin) Finney on Oct. 6, 1943, in Chadwick, Missouri. She passed away at her home in Chadwick, Mo., on Jan. 18, 2026.
Wanda is survived by her siblings: Dale Finney, Sue Petersen, Daniel (Cindy) Finney, and David (Danetta) Finney; and by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Henry “Ermal” and Clara (Marlin) Finney; her siblings Phillip, Rose, and Jane; her brother-in-law Steve Kinyon; her sister-in-law Shirley Finney; and her brother-in-law Carl Petersen. She was also preceded in death by her children’s father, Robert Gideon; her daughters Wanda Pauline and Roberta Catherine; her son-in-law Mike Bushong; and her great-grandson Timothy Guerin.
She will be remembered for her deep love of iris gardening and genealogy. She took great joy in tending her gardens and tracing her family history.
Wanda’s legacy lives on through the many generations of her family, who will forever cherish her love, strength, and wisdom. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A visitation for Wanda was held on Friday, Jan. 23, at Greenlawn Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center in Ozark, Mo., her funeral service followed afterward. Wanda was laid to rest at Chadwick Cemetery in Chadwick, Mo.
