With Kelby Day, Peyton Blake, Parker Ramsdell and Garrett Sutherland as Ozark’s leaders, coach Justin Peery has high expectations for the Tigers.
“I’m hoping we can compete for the conference championship. One of my goals is to be right in the mix for it with Carthage and Nixa, “Perry said. “We’d also like to get several golfers out of Districts and one, two or three of them onto State.”
Day, who made State last year, is again Ozark’s No. 1 player. There will likely be rounds in which Blake, Sutherland and Ramsdell shoot as well as Day, if not better.
“All of our golfers have the potential to get there if they shoot the right round on the right day,” Peery said. “Peyton is super consistent. He’s a smart golfer who you can count on to make safe, smart decisions. He’s solid. You can count on him to two-putt and be around the green in two shots. Parker has potential to get hot and play well. He can put together a string of birdies and pars.
“We’re going to be looking for our golfers to gain confidence over the course of the year.”
Ozark’s schedule this week calls for the Tigers to be at Webb City on Monday and Branson on Tuesday. The COC Tournament will be held at Webb City on April 22.
