On Sunday, Dec. 8, Nixa will hold its annual 70th Christmas Parade! This year’s theme is Past to Present: Seven Decades of a Nixa Christmas. The parade will start at 2:00 p.m. Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring the 2024 Nixa Christmas Parade! Make sure to be on the lookout for Santa, who will be on the Gateway Real Estate parade float. Parade Route: Leaving from The X Center, the parade will travel west on North St., turn right on to Main (north) to Aven and turn left (west), take Aven to Fort St. (south), south on Fort St. to Wasson (west), west on Wasson to McCroskey (north), north on McCroskey to Lorene (east), east on Lorene to Main St. (north), north on Main St. to Short St. (east), east on Short St., to Frank (south), south on Frank to Kyle (east), east on Kyle to the back driveway of the Nixa Jr. High. The performing bands will begin at the Nixa Jr. High. more

Steven Wayne Seaton, 71, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14th around 4:30 p.m. His visitation and funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 20th, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral beginning at 11:30. Services will be held at West Finley Baptist Church, 258 Olga Rd, Fordland, MO. The burial will be in the cemetery adjacent to the church grounds. more

Twenty-two Nixa students earned District Band honors and will perform with the District Honor & Concert Bands in January 2025 at the Aetos Center for the Performing Arts. Students who made the Honor Band or the first two chairs of the Concert Band are eligible to audition for the Missouri All-State Band. Those students are indicated with an asterisk below. more

This past weekend, the Nixa Crimson Corps concluded their marching season by attending the Bands of America Grand Nationals competition, held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. This event is the largest and final marching competition in the nation, featuring 112 of the top bands from across the country. The band earned a 1 rating, which is the highest rating that can be achieved. more
