ROGERSVILLE — Less than two weeks into post-season play and the Mid-Lakes Conference has no boys team still shooting hoops.
Clever joined Strafford as the final Mid-Lakes teams to be eliminated, with the Jays losing to Mountain Grove 64-49 in a Class 4 District 11 semifinal Thursday.
The Jays fell behind 18-9, but held the upper hand at halftime, leading 26-23 thanks to netting five 3-point goals in the second quarter.
But Clever (11-17) cooled off and couldn’t pace with Mountain Grove in the second half.
Mid-Lakes members Clever, Strafford, Fair Grove, Forsyth and Skyline were a combined 3-5 in District play. Strafford lost 73-67 in overtime Thursday to a 7-21 Bolivar team in a Class 4 District 10 semifinal.
In the other semifinal at Rogersville, the host Wildcats whipped Ava 6225.
