Morgan Bos’ 16 kills powered Clever to a sweep of Mountain Grove on Saturday and a berth in the Class 3 Final Four.
The Lady Jays (31-5-3) won the Quarterfinal match by counts of 25-21, 25-20, 25-19, after Mountain Grove took the teams’ regular-season meeting in five sets.
Bos needed just 27 attempts at the net to notch her 16 kills for a 59.3 kill percentage. She had only two errors on her attacks.
Bos had seven kills over five sets at Mountain Grove four weeks ago.
The senior middle hitter has reached double figures in kills in three straight matches and five of Clever’s last eight matches. She has 385 kills on the season, more than double her kills total from both her sophomore and junior seasons.
Addie Gilmore added 10 kills, Audrey Riley contributed six kills and Chandlyr Friend had five.
Clever collected seven aces, with Riley having three and Jenna Thompson and Friend each having two.
Gilmore led the Lady Jays’ defense with four blocks. Sydney Bollenbach had 14 digs and 12 serve-receptions.
Jocelyn Sisk and Riley combined for 37 assists.
Clever will join Ursuline Academy (15-13), Pleasant Hill (20-9-1) and defending state champion Blair Oaks (29-5-1) in the Class 3 Final Four field.
The Lady Jays last made State in 2011.
Clever and Ursuline will meet in a semifinal at 10 a.m. Thursday in Cape Girardeau. Ursuline is a St. Louis metro all-girls Catholic school with an annual tuition of $17,600.
